Schmiedmann's S-Tech sport manifold for the M50 and M52 six-cylinder — the tubular replacement for the heavy cast manifold BMW bolted on at the factory.
Built from 304 stainless steel, with a 35 × 50 mm port at the cylinder head and 46 mm piping at the flange.
It arrives as a complete set — manifold, adapter pipes and gaskets together, so the joint down to your catalyst comes in the box rather than being something you have to source.
One of the most established manifolds on the E36 platform, and the same part carries across the E34, E39 and Z3.

Worth ordering with it: stud bolts 11-12-7-593-376. They are shorter than standard, which makes getting the nuts started far easier in a tight space. Schmiedmann's own recommendation.

Fits BMW variants across four chassis, in both manual and automatic form.
On the E39 it covers the M52 cars built up to 09/98. Built for left-hand-drive models.

Running a swap?
It follows the engine, not the shell. The manifold bolts to the cylinder head, so an M50 or M52 dropped into another shell takes the same part. Send us a photo of your engine bay and we'll line it up with you.
05Fitting Notes
Guide time3,5–4,5 hours
Hand these to whoever fits it — they save time on the car.
01The adapter pipes are in the box. They make the joint from the manifold down to your catalyst, so that section is trimmed to suit the car it's going on.
02Use the short 11-12-7-593-376 stud bolts. On this manifold they turn the worst part of the job into the easiest.
03Schmiedmann recommend the fitting is done by a workshop set up for exhaust work.
