031978A: Rear shock absorber - lower mount SPORT

The lower mount for the rear shock absorber, in polyurethane.

90 ShA polyurethane — the yellow SPORT compound. StrongFlex build this grade for tuned and lowered cars: the suspension gets noticeably stiffer, the geometry stops moving under load and the car holds its line when you push it.

It is a small part with a direct effect: the damper is only as good as what it is bolted to. A soft mount lets the shock move before it starts damping, which reads as a rear end that settles late. Polyurethane takes that delay out and the damper does its work from the first millimetre.

StrongFlex build this one for motorsport — drift and track — where the sharper response is worth the extra stiffness.

This mount stiffens how the suspension works, which is why StrongFlex put it in the motorsport range. On a drift or track car that is the point. On a car that spends its life on the road you will notice the rear end feels firmer and busier over broken surfaces.
